Actually I use WindowMaker, but still have an interest
in seeing whats happening with other desktops.

thanks, I'm not really looking for help, just
discussion, but I find
the Gnome support on the forum usually has more
activity which often
includes topics which kde/gnome are irrelevant in.

Don't feel like you have to - this is the place to

issue not specific to one of the other lists.

There are many Kubuntu users here. I have no
interest in Gnome at all.

I don't suppose there's much difference in using a
Kubuntu
installation to using the Ubuntu install and
coverting? (probably
wasn't supposed to ask that)

Not much, and you were :-) The biggest difference
is that if you install
Ubuntu & Kubuntu-desktop, you'll have full Gnome &
KDE installations,
instead of just one or the other.
