There is always some disortition at the "peak" of sounds, like the
bassdrum in a song. Seems a little random, though.
I already tuned down the mixer volumes, and have no PCI conflicts or an
additional onboard soundcard.
Is there any help for this? On a parallel Windows installation I never
had any problems like this, so I'm sure its not hardware related.
driver? EDIT: I notice from the amixer ouput that it does.
I am using Dapper with an Audigy 2 ZS Notebook (and my fair share minor
problems, which I have bug reported) and I get full 7.1 surround sound
working perfectly from all speakers using the default ALSA config. All
I did was plug it in, and set it as default.
If you're using Breezy, and don't want to upgrade to an unstable
version, then hang on till June, and upgrade them. However, if the SB
Live 5.1 doesn't use emu10k1, then I can't really help.
