I should have added that I do have Dapper Beta 1 installed on this
machine and I've upgraded it to the latest with aptitude dist-upgrade
etc and that seems to run OK (network manager falls over, but that's for
another thread). It's just the Live CD which behaves oddly. But to
answer your questions:

Amount of gum stuck to screen. important things. :)
No gum, but plenty of finger marks etc. I did clean the screen just
before booting the live CD, maybe that screwed it up:-)
