Hi all,
I just installed Dapper on a brand new Acer laptop (Aspire 5500Z).
Install went fine (with noapic as boot parameter). Once I had logged
in Gnome, I downloaded the updates (~750). However, after rebooting, I
can't get networking going again. The network interfaces are
recognized but dhclient doesn't seem to work. I am not doing anything
unusual: /etc/network/interfaces contains the stock:
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp
At this point I am at a loss. Anyone have an ideas?
As soon as I get this fixed along with a couple other items, I will
update the wiki with an entry for this model.
What's the output of:
$ sudo ifconfig
Regards
Clive
