I, also am having the identical problem, it's rather a nuisance to have
to unplug and replug the mouse each time I boot up...
Mine is a Trackman Marble Wheel, and I'm running Dapper (kubuntu) on an
Amd Athlon. Xorg.conf says :
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Configured Mouse"
Driver "mouse"
Option "CorePointer"
Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
Option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "true"
EndSection
but I don't think that's really relevant!
I'm going to submit a bug report once I figure out what area to put it
in.
