server install + x

perhaps this is a little bit of a strange question, but, after
completing a server install of ubuntu and running "sudo aptitude install
ubuntu-desktop" how does one go about configuring the computer to
automatically start X every the computer boots and give you a login
screen (just like a standard ubuntu install). Recommendations to just
install the standard ubuntu distro are not welcome! Real advice is
warmly welcomed!!
