As is it a closed source binary blob, I would suggest uninstalling it.Paul~
Removing the repo.
Downloading the new version and trying it. The beta is running rather well.
Nothing to loose, everything to gain.
Download the binary and use the command line.
dpkg -i filename.foo
Nothing to loose, something to gain.
This is where closed source software excels at helping the user. ;-)
You were right. The beta version installed and seems to work fine!
Now the only matter left is to get my webcam pro 3000 (audio/video) to
at least get the mic to work, and I'm all set. Since I don't think
there is a linux solution for these webcams that works, I may have to
wait until i get my hands on a stick mic that I can plug in directly and
try that. I've tried both the pwc and the spca drivers, but neither one
will work with these types of webcams for audio.
Thanks for your help with this, though. I really appreciate it! At
least I have skype installed and running at this point.
