Does anyone know how to get a Logitech Stereo USB Headset 250 to work
on Ubuntu? Sometimes when I plug it in /dev/audio1 appears, sometimes
not. The device briefly appeared in the xfce4 volume control device
pull-down, but hasn't appeared since. Sometimes plugging it in makes
these lines appear in syslog
Jul 31 11:45:48 localhost kernel: [18303142.420000] usb 3-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2
Jul 31 11:45:48 localhost kernel: [18303142.816000] usbcore: registered new driver snd-usb-audio
Jul 31 11:45:55 localhost kernel: [18303149.236000] usb 3-1: USB disconnect, address 2
Jul 31 11:45:57 localhost kernel: [18303151.744000] usb 3-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 3
but not always. I'd appreciate any debugging suggestions.
Hmm. It's mysteriously started working --- but only at full volume,
which is far too loud for me. In both GNOME and XFCE4 the toolbar
volume control has no effect, and neither does xmms's own volume
slider.
I'd appreciate any suggestions for regulating the volume!
