If I buy a seperate graphics card, how do I install it? Do I haveto
reinstall Ubuntu?
I haven't personally done this (but am thinking of it). I would expect
you'll just need to reconfigure the software:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
That should work.

You will need to be sure that your BIOS is set to use the video card
instead of the onboard one.
Also use
dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg
from recovery mode. Adding the -phigh switch just does the
autodetection again without any interaction from you.
Then run
init 2
to get back to the desktop.
