I got vmware server up and running, and put XP up as a virtual machine.
What's puzzling me is that there are no sound or usb devices showing.
I know that Ubuntu sees these devices (although sound on Ubuntu is a bit
of a toss-up).
Has anyone here gotten these devices to work properly on vmware server?
Thanks for the input.
Hello John
I have Ubuntu Dapper running on my Dell Inspiron 1150 Laptop and got
vmware-player with apt-get (universe?) Kernel is (stock) 2.6.15-25-386
and vmware-player just works great with usb and sound :-)
With kernel 2.6.15-26-386 vmware-player did not work for me :-(
I think this info does not help you, sorry. But I thought I just report
that it is working for me.
Sorry, Thomas
I have been testing the latest beta version on Dapper and find it faster
then VMware. The deb package they have works great. Didn't have any
issues installing the package either. Free 15 day trial. (*nix/Mac/Win)
No, I don't work with/for the company. Just a little sidenote i saw in
