Wireless device not detected

I just bought an Averatec 2260, and booted it using the Ubuntu live CD
for AMD64 processors (the laptop has an AMD64 processor). The
wireless device is not detected. Does anyone know how I can fix this?
I'd like to make sure it works using the Live CD before I install it
on my hard drive.
Thanks,
Colin Kern
