Keyboard going crazy

Hi,

I have a strange behavior on two of my ubuntu machines: The keyboard out
of a sudden gets totally crazy like when you press e.g. the "r" key it
writes out 1000s of "r"s and the bell rings - I mean it's funny to
watch, but some people in my lab do not have the same humor as I have.
The two machines are running on completely different hardware by the way
that's why I think that it's not a hardware issue.

Any ideas?
