In Ubuntu Edgy, how do I access a webdav folder in Gnome? I am able to
do this in konqueror in KDE by replacing the "http" in the webdav
folder's URL with "webdav" and making a shortcut on desktop. This
doesn't seem to work in Gnome however. Any ideas?
You could use the top-level Places menu -> Connect to Server, and then
pick WebDAV from the drop-down box.

Microsoft's entry in this cavalcade of horrors is Universal Plug and Play
(UPnP). This is a protocol that allows [...] an end-user system to request a
dynamic port-forwarding from the firewall to the box. Many network
administrators will probably (rightly) recoil at letting applications on a
Windows box dictate firewall policy.
