I know I'm using an ADSL, and I'm able to get online.
Do I have to go to pppoeconf to setup something?
And MOST IMPORTANTLY, is this the source of my
harddrive problem?????

Your box is configured for dhcp and is not getting a lease.
So.. if you are using dhcp make sure your box can see the dhcp server
(it might be your adsl router, if you have one).
If it doesn't use dhcp, configure a static ip address.
