Re: why Can't I install the grub on ubuntu 6.06?

I have solved my problem with the following command
I boot from the live cd, then
sudo mount /dev/hda2 /mnt
sudo grub-install /dev/hda2 --no-floppy --root-directory=/mnt
Then I restart my pc from the flash-disk and create the menu.lst file in
/boot/grub directory
Note that the *MENU.LST* file name is wrong. Only the menu.lst file name
works.
Thank you all very much for your warmly help and discussion. I'm very glad
to discuss the
ubuntu problems with you.

I'm not sure about the "W95" in that line, but just to clarify, you can
run/install WinXP with either the NTFS or FAT32 filesystem.
