Hi Dennis,

I think the closest thing in Firefox to the ctrl+o behaviour in Galeon
is ctrl+l (or f6) which takes you straight to your URL input at the top
and highlights the contents so you can type over them.

Yes, I've seen that. A poor imitation IMHO. Bu it's the best I can find for
that.

If you go to the firefox extensions/addons page and search for 'Session
Manager' both 'Session Manager' and 'Tab Mix Plus' are returned; I think
either of these will cover your needs.

Neither of these seesm to be compatible with Firfox 2.x, which is what gets
installed on 6.10. Should I "downgrade" to Firfox 1.x? Is this possible
within the Ubuntu package management system?

As for c) I'm afraid I don't know the ideal solution, but if you go into
preferences, click content, then advanced and untick 'Allow pages to
choose their own fonts..', this should make all pages use the font (and
size) you specify. It may be a short-term solution (some pages may look
weird) but things should be more readable.

Yes, but the "mdifications" definately ned to be on a per page, or per site
bassis. SpeedTV uses fonts that are WAY to small read, they need scaleing
to 160-170%. Most other sites are useless with this much upscaleing :-(

If you don't find the solution to the problems theres nothing to stop
you from using Galeon (2.02 is in the Ubuntu repos). Or of course
Konqueror, Epiphany or Opera.

I may give Galeon 2.x a try. They droped the CTRL o functioanlity, when
they redid the codebase for 2x, and I could not convince ayone on the
development team to put it back, so I never upgraded. I have no idea if the
other 2 "key" features mad the transistion or not. Probably should just
apt-get it, and try. I tried Konqueror, it's OK, but has some issues for
me. The bigest one is I like to type in just enough of teh URL to let
tthe browser figure it out. This breaks badly on Konqueror, since it wants
to look on the local disk alao :-(. I have not tried Epiphany. I loaded
Opera using Automatix, but that created problems with upgrades, s I delted
it before I even tried it.

Thanks for the sugestions..
