i belive it would be the other way around...meaning they are not systems
names @ MS, but rather, someone owns the domain "sucks.com" and creates
a subdomain record "microsoft.com", so the full record is
"microsoft.com.sucks.com"

thats what these are. remember, domain names read backwards....

Matt

no i don´t think so.

sorry of course of course you are right.
"remember, domain names read backwards...."

that´s why i don´t understand that entrance in whois. i only typed:
$ whois microsoft.com

which is the most right part of the domain, or not?
If not i don´t understand that whois at all, it seems. :/

can somebody explain that a bit please?

"microsoft.com.sucks.com" is still a part of "sucks.com" and only "sucks.com"
needs to be resolved to reache it.

$ whois ubuntu.com
.
Domain Name: UBUNTU.COM
.

$ whois help.ubuntu.com
.
.
No match for "HELP.UBUNTU.COM".
