FTP Server Not Accessable

Hello,
I setup a PureFTPd following the HOWTO on the Community Docs:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/PureFTP
But when trying to access it from the outside it hangs on "Connecting..."
I am connected to the Internet using a router and I have configured port
forwarding for FTP in the routers Firewall. When trying to connect using
gFTP to localhost it works well, so I know it is configured correctly...
Anywhere else I should enable port 21?
Thanks!
