Oh yes. Have you seen the section on hardware modems? There's practically
nothing there. Same story all over the internet, apparently hardware modems
not working isn't all that common.

As for my winmodem, the CD it came with came bundled with Linux drivers for
old Linux distributions, but none of them actually installed. Which is
really frustrating. And scanModem reckoned it 'unsupported', it's completely
software. (Agere Softmodem)
