I installed the ATI binary driver (as well as the ones that come with

Had anyone experienced this? I hate being stuck with the mesa drivers :(
On my edgy box something similar occurs, but when my monitor is
switched OFF while booting, everything works all-right when switching
on my monitor after X is initialized.
My monitor is an 17inch iiyama, and I don't know how specific this
problem is for my monitor.
In any case: I could not find a solution and switched back to the
radeon drivers. If you do find a solution I would be very interested!
thanks Alexis, I'll give it a try. Weirdly, it seems to do it with the
binary drivers from ATI and also the drivers bundles with ubuntu :(
Could be a heat-problem with the videocard itself. Have you tried a
different distro/OS yet?
