You mean hotplugging? For a paralell ATA version I doubt it, even for a
SATA I don't know if the kernel supports hotplugging them. It definatel
didn't work on my old C600 up to kernel 2.6.8 and since then I've never
tried again with my new laptop.

So, I guess the answer will be no.
