Re: where can i set the number of concurrent nx users?

I have tried this as well.

even thought the default is 20, which i assume means 20 concurrent
users, I get this messange on the SECOND user.

Thinking that maybe the default was not set properly, i have
uncommented the line
#SESSION_LIMIT = "20"
to read
SESSION_LIMIT = "20"
and restarted the server

but still no go, as soon as the second user tries to connect...
"Reached the maximum number of allowed users on this server"

maybe i will reboot the whole server tonite and see if that helps

I have installed the NoMachine's version of NXserver.

I am currently finding that if one user has a nx session running I
can't get another user connected. I get "Reached the maximum number of

what do i need to do to allow multiple simultaneous user sessions?

is this a limitation imposed on the "free" linux server?

I picked this out of the FAQ on the site...

"How to increase the session numbers in the NX Enterprise and Advanced
Servers
There is a key in the server configuration specifying the maximum number
of allowed sessions. The default is 20. Customers who want to run more
sessions should raise the number to whatever they like.

#SESSION_LIMIT = "20"

There is also the following key:

#SESSION_USER_LIMIT = "20"
#set the maximum number of concurrent NX sessions that
#can be run by a single user. By default a user can run as
#many sessions as they are allowed on the server. By setting
#this value to 1, the system administrator can force the user
#to terminate any suspended session before starting a new one.

The maximum per user/per total sessions can depend on the power of your
server, memory and disk space, but if you can guarantee these then you
can impose your own limits as you wish."
