Re: A little help please!



I struggled to get video and audio to play consistently in both edgy
and fiesty. I finally overcame the problem by downloading automatix2
(http://www.getautomatix.com/) and installing the multimedia codecs.
I also ditched Totem in favor of VLC and have had no problems.

Have you followed the instructions on
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats to get these formats
working?

Also, if totem is not playing certain files, I would give vlc a try. It
has a decent GUI and built-in support for many formats.
