Dell TFT Monitor and Ubuntu 7.04

Hello Everybody,

I have installed Ubuntu 7.04 on our recently purchased
Dell Dimension E520 machines. Everything is fine, except
that after I am in graphical mode (whether logged in or at
the graphical login prompt does not matter), if I go to the
console (using Ctrl-Alt-F1), and then come back again
(using Alt-F7), the TFT monitor does not show anything and
flickers instead. I have seen this problem on other TFT
monitors as well (non-Dell, that is).

I believe this got something to do with the Xorg version used
or the kernel version, since I cannot reproduce this problem
using the recently released Debian Etch, or the earlier version
of Ubuntu.

Could you please let me know whether anyone of you have
seen this problem?

Regards,
Santanu
