Much easier.

I have had a one-off problem with it spontaneously vanishing. It
hadn't quit - my connections were still open - but all my windows and
its icon disappeared. Relaunching it, the new copy didn't notice the
old one was there and they fought over the connections. Quitting the
new one killed both but I couldn't reopen it.

So for that session, I just went back to GAIM 2ß6.

Generally, though, I really approve of the changes.
