I think this describes the problem, but I haven't a clue how to

Edit .ssh/known_hosts on the client machine and delete the first line
(note lines are quire long so may wrap). Delete all the lines if you are
not sure.

The first time you run ssh, it will ask you to confirm the key of the
remote machine. Just say yes and all should be weel from then on.
