Rename external HD

I have an external hard drive that was originally installed using XP.
Not thinking anything of it at the time I included a space in the
name. Which means some of my applications give a can't locate error
because it will stop looking when it reaches the space.

What's the best way to rename the hard drive to a ubuntu 7.04 friencly
name? I tried using the properties field in the gui but got 'you don't
have permissions' error.

Thanks

Bob
