That iwconfig shows hardware connected doesn't necessarily mean the
radio is hearing wireless signals.
issue: <sudo iwlist scanning> and wait for completion.
you should see the neigborhood wireless signals, including the access
point you seek

Hello list, first time posting here.
Sorry if it is a very noob question but I am testing Ubuntu for the first
time, just installed 7.0.4 desktop version on a Latitude D620 and configured
my wireless connection after installing, it worked fine. After I reboot the
pc, the wireless connection disappeared and can?t find it, tried with
iwconfig command and see the network adapter but cannot set another networks
(ssid) with different ecryption mechanism than wep. Any suggestion about
doing it via the cli and maybe a tip in order to find it in the graphical
interface? The wifi led remains blinking in a weird way I the laptop.
I will appreciate any help,
