SOLVED Samba deamon (smbd) dies, nmdb keeps running

Yesterday I have installed samba on my kubuntu 7.04 box, and i've started
to play with it's settings. If i remember correctly, both the deamons
(smbd, and nmbd) kept running.
After a reboot, and more fiddling with the settings (in
/etc/samba/smb.conf), i noticed smbd wasn't running.
Could you please tell me what i can do to investigate this problem further?

Hi All,
It turns out the above config file was not good. I have replaced it with the
backup of the origional file, and now all is working.
