Make sure the module "visor" is loaded - for some reason it is not auto
loading on 7.04 (which is was on 6.06). This is explained in the bug
report you linked to.
I have a udev rule in /etc/udev/rules.d/10-local.rules:
BUS=="usb", SYSFS{serial}=="PalmSN12345678", KERNEL=="ttyUSB[13579]*", SYMLINK="treo"
This rule creates /dev/treo.
I have jpilot configured to use /dev/treo. I first press the hotsync
button on the palm connector, then I press the sync button in jpilot and
it then syncs.
I did exactly as you said and now it's sync'ing.
So, this is a bug in udev, and also the visor module is not loading
automatically for some reason.
