Hi guys
I recently downloaded Ubuntu 7.04 and I have installed it on my laptop.
After installing Ubuntu I had to reboot the system in order to complete
the installation. At this point the computer started booting up, I was
able to see Ubuntu logo but after this it shows a black screen and that's
about it. The computer practically hangs at that point and I have to
manually reset the computer. I've tried a couple of times to boot up
again but the result is the same. Here are my computer specs:

Any ideas will be much appreciated!!!
Thank you

Hi Dan
I see you have an nvidia card similar to mine on this laptop. Alas I can't
get the nvidia card working right here. Seems there's an issue with the
installation package. Good news is the puter aint hung. Just the screen is
black. Try hitting CTRL ALT F1 and you'll get to the console. then try
sudo vi /etc/X11/xorg.conf
look for the graphics card down in the file and change its driver to vesa.
You'll loose 3d support but you'll see your screen after a reboot
James
Hi James,
A reboot is not needed, you can switch back to the graphical screen with
ctlr-alt-F7, and then press ctrl-alt-backspace to restart the X server.
