Hiya folks -
Is that an application that will allow me to split up an MP3
album? It seems a friend of mine somehow gave me a CD in one
huge MP3 file.
Audacity will do the job
Audacity will do the job badly. MP3 encoding is lossy, therefore
there will be an additional loss of quality when audacity reencodes
the split mp3 files.
Try the mp3splt package, which can do this without reencoding.
I agree with Toby. mp3splt will do the job much more easily than
audacity. If you can find the .xmcd file here:
http://www.freedb.org/
then you can feed that to mp3splt and it will automatically split the
file at the right times and label the tracks correctly. It works a
treat. Cheers,
Jonathan
Absolutely fantastic! Worked like a charm. Many thanks everyone.
