Re: vmware server problems

Canonical "commercial" package: can't use remote console from anywhere on
the local host
can't build a virtual machines (gets to end of disc allocation and then
complains about virtual machine not being in inventory) and this is running
as root. can't install xinetd.

VM Ware all source package.

patched vmware server:

Kind of comes up and runs. Can't access the remote console because it
tells me something about

Cannot connect to host 192.168.0.14: No connection could be made because
the target machine actively refused it. Even though I can telnet to port
and get a hello message.

ghod, I hate wasting my time. yet on the other end of the spectrum, I have
a friend who runs the bleeding edge desktops and does so without any injury
to herself or others. Go figure.

I have been running VMware Workstation on several distros for the past 7 years
and have always been able to get it to run.

The error above shows that it can't build the needed module and I would expect
it is the same source that I am running on Feisty.

I assume you have loaded all the kernel pieces needed to do the compile for
vmmon.
