If there is change it to: firefox %u and that
should
solve it.

Thanks for the reply, Goo.
Right clicking the firefox panel button and
selecting
"configure Firefox web browser button" I find
under
general tab, location= /usr/share/application, and
under the application tab, command= firefox %u.
But
that doesn't solve anything. If I click the panel
icon
or select "Firefox web browser" from the K(de)
menu>internet, I immediately get another instance
of
swiftfox in the "center-applications loaded panel
window" along with a "loading firefox buzy
revolving
icon". The busy icon just goes away shortly
leaving
two copies of swiftfox and no firefox. Just
checked
again, and now, even in a konsole terminal typing
"firefox" just loads another instance of swiftfox.
Hope this is more clear than the original post.
Just
recently everything was loading normally from
panel
icons.

(snip)
If you change the "firefox %u" to the complete path,
does that make a
difference?

No. I had /usr/bin/firefox as the command before and
did the same.
