Hi Everyone,
I have installed Ubuntu Feisty on a G4 desktop with an ATI Rage 128
video card. I have managed to solve all but two of the problems:
1) I can't get suspend to work. Both suspend to disk (hibernate) and
suspend to memory (sleep) just lock the screen.
2) I cannot seem to get my SCSI scanner to work (epson perfection 1200S).
I would appreciate any help with those two issues,
Thanks,
Oudisos.
Hi -- I just happened to notice your question on the Ubuntu-users
list, but you will probably find more specific help in Ubuntu Forums
web site, specifically the section for PowerPC users:
http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=133
The SCSI scanner could either be the appropriate SCSI module didn't
get loaded, or it could be an issue with configuring SANE. Most of the
problems I have had with SANE have turned out to be permissions
issues, and once those are resolved it works very reliably.
Does sudo sane-find-scanner see it? If it shows up when using sudo,
but not when you run sane-find-scanner as a regular user, then it's a
permissions issue.
If you haven't already, I suggest you look in the Ubuntu Forums for
the latest on how to get suspend working.
Good luck!
