samba set USB modem

Hi,
I am going to send an Ubuntu laptop to a girl, dummy in computer.
The connection to internet will be with a Samba Set 75 USB GPRS modem.
I saw the Za CLUG doc about it:

Would you know if there is a graphical way to configure it?
Do you know if that described proceure is still up to date for Gutsy?
