RE: Updating kernel in ubuntu 7.04

Thanks for all indications,I'd like to update the kernel because the new
version of my braille support doesn't work correlcty.
I compiled the driver from source but I didn't work with the current version
of the kernel.
And what if I'm going to update in gutsy?
Is it stable enough to wrok?
What is the procedure to do that?
Is it the command that I received in this message?
Thanks in andvance
Best regards, Sauro

Hello ereryone,

Any particular reason why? If it's to get new drivers, you may just want to
upgrade to the gutsy beta now ("update-manager -d").

Is it possible to install a version like 2.6.21 or greater?

Anything's possible ;-)

Is it possible to do this from the repository or I have to recompile it?

You might try to use the gutsy version, but my guess is it's going to be a
headache.

If you compile from source, you'll have to manually manage security updates,
which may not be worth your time.

Thanks in advance
