Upgrading to 7.10 question about perl

Doing the upgrade to 7.10 from 7.04, downloaded all the files and the
program is now installing, well I hope so. There appears to be no or
very little disk activity but it says "Preparing to configure
perl-modules" Seems to have been that way for about 20+ minutes.
Upgrading on a Celeron based laptop

Is it stuck or does it take time here?
