Gutsy won't write DVDs

Ubuntu Users,

I reported this problem on the forums, but it has seen no response:

I have a CD/DVD r/w drive, that burned DVDs in Edgy and Feisty.

Basically, in Gutsy I can burn CDs no problem.

But I can not write DVDs at all. Any attempt to do so results in being
asked to insert a writable disk. This happens regardless of what program
I use, K3B, Gnomebaker, or others.

Any advice would be much appreciated.
