The crash reports themselves are stored in /var/crash/. You can unpack
them into a directory using 'apport-unpack' and view the various parts
of the crash report.

Hello,
I had a couple of bad crashes in the past two days and I would like to
know which log I should look into to try to figure out what happened
or at least to try to isolate the problem.
In one particular occasion I could go to tty1 but every time I tried
to log in after inserting the password the terminal was filling up
with garb... ehm.. I mean useful information, and then I was asked for
the username again.
Cheers,
Michele
