Re: GRUB stalls during 7.10 installation (elmo)




I've tried several times to install UBUNTU 7.10 but each time I get a
notice that
there's a 'fatal error' when the grub install starts and the install
process halts.
The installation appears be proceeding very nicely until the grub
installation starts.


If it hasn't screwed up the MBR and you can still get the grub menu
screen from previous install, try adding gutsy entry to the current
/boot/grub/menu.lst and see if that boots ubuntu
