I finally got it to work what i did was to install "WIcd" and i am
guessing this fixed the problem ...

you might try running ./wlan0up as root:

ex: sudo ./wlan0up

note: usually, when it says "operation not permmitted", it usually means
that the program is trying to do something that a restricted user is not
permitted to do.
