thanks David. :-)
you're welcome.
about the usb. the output of lsusb befor eand after plugin are exactly same:
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
when i first turn on the driver i can hear the spin then after 19
seconds, nothing (i even put my ears on the drivers and still heard
nothing. it's always cold.). but the light is still on. not flashing
like the normal working drivers as you can imagine.
anything i can do about it?
try it in another machine. does windows (ugh) recognize it? are you
using the same usb port for each drive? maybe one of the ports is
faulty. does it take power from the usb? is there another way to power
the drive? lots of usb issues crop up when the port can't power the
device. unplug any usb devices on that hub you don't need so it has the
max power available for your drive. does that make a difference?
hope that helps.
