You can use Pidgin - it's a multiprotocol instant messaging application
that, properly configured, allows you to connect simultaneously to, say, a
Yahoo account, a MSN one, a gTalk one, ICQ etc. You should already have it
under Applications -> Internet -> Pidgin. If not, a simple

sudo aptitude install pidgin

should do the trick. :-)
