I have experienced the same on several sites, all featuring flash video.
Even if the stream is buffered the video stutters a while into the
playback. On longer clips it may stutter several times. Although my
laptop is only equipped with 512 Mb of ram it seems to make no
difference if the computer is under heavy load or running idle.

I'm now running ubuntu 7.10 but I don't recall having this problem under
7.04.
