If you're not sure if your ISPs mail server runs POP3 or IMAP, just> use "AUTO" in the .procmailrc file - something like this:
>
> poll isp.mail.server with proto AUTO
Darn! I'm sorry for mixing things up, I wanted to say ".fetchmailrc"
but didn't pay enough attention.
actually I should not have even mentioned procmail as all I use it for
is to feed spam software, fetchmail gets my email and plaes it in my
spool for my MUA to read.
Of course, of course! It was my spelling/attention mistake :-)
I just need an ubuntu specific guide for
configuring exim with smtp auth or find another MTA that is simpler to
set up :-)
I'm not really into exim - I hope you'll sort things out!
