If you had two hard drives installed, would you place a /home partition

How about a /swap partition?
I would like /home, /var, /tmp and swap all on different drives - as they're
the ones that get almost all the write activity. Since most of us don't
have 4 drives, I think I'd want /var and swap on different drives (Ubuntu
puts /tmp on tmpfs - which _is_ in swap, anyway).
Would it make any difference if it was a logical or extended partition?
Not a bit.
