Webstart is not a browser plugin but an application that handles .jnlp

That said, it should be sufficent to tell firefox to use the javaws
binary from the java6 distribution for handling files with .jnlp
extension / application/x-java-jnlp-file MIME-type.
Thanks for that. I have found a javaws executable in the installed Java
6 directories. Now what?
In Firefox I can (via Edit -> Preferences -> Content -> File types ->
Manage) get to a dialog that looks sort of like what I need, except that
the Remove button is greyed out. Also, there is no entry for jnlp at all
- but I know that Webstart for java 5 is working. And there are no
entries for dozens of file types that know my Firefox install can
handle.
A bit stumped.
