wireless connection stopped working

My hp nc 6220 (with intel centrino wifi chip) wireless stopped working since
I upgraded to hardy.

ifconfig does not show eth1. sudo ifconfig eth1 up, did that manually.

iwconfig shows the radio off
iqbala@ghar:~$ iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.

I were able to click on the network icon on top right corner and were able
to see a list of wireless channels. Now it only shows the wired network,
connect to 802.1x protected network and manual configuration

Any help would be appreciated
