I want to make a data base or file that has a list of all files ( or aHi Doug,

What I want to know is how many duplicates I have across 3 computers.
2 windows XP and this Ubuntu one.
I am new to Linux and Ubuntu but back in CPM days ( 1982) I had such a
system and now would like it in Ubuntu.
Does this exist?

If you aren't more concerned about syncing the files than just
figuring out how many times you made duplicates, then I suggest you
look into the program called rsync. You can run it with the -"av"
flags (see doc link below) both ways between computers and ensure you
have all the latest files in both places. It's very cool.
